Udupi: Renowned footwear shop gutted in fire at Manipal

Udupi, Aug 20: Fire engulfed the renowned footwear shop at Manipal and all the stock in the shop was gutted. The incident took place late night on Thursday August 19.

The fire erupted due to an electrical short circuit in the shop. Fire service personnel reached the spot to douse the fire.

The mishap took place after the owner closed the shop on Thursday night. The fire had spread to a nearby shop also.

Three fire service engines conducted the operation of dousing the fire.
