Karkala, Aug 20: Block Congress observed the birth anniversaries of former PM Rajiv Gandhi and former CM Devraj Urs at block Congress office here today. Block Congress president Sadashiva Devadiga and Kukkundoor rural committee president Thomas Mascarenhas lighted the lamp and paid tributes to the late leaders.
Block Congress chief secretary Sushanth Sudhaker said that the universal immunization programme that was implemented by Rajiv Gandhi enabled vaccination against Corona pandemic. “Similarly Devraj Urs implemented the Havanoor Commission report and became the safeguard of backward classes,” he said.
State Kisan committee secretary Udaya V Shetty, chief secretary Prabhaker Bangera, organizing secretary Nakre Jayaram Acharya, Sunil Kumar Bhandary and I T Cell president Sathish Karkala were present.
Party spokesperson Shubhada Rao compered the programme.
