Mangaluru: Bike rider's mistake causes car passenger's demise

Mangaluru, Sep 28: In a tragic incident which happened near Kokkarkal, Mulky, on national highway 66, a car driver had to apply brakes all of a sudden because of the mistake committed by a motorbike rider, in order to avoid hitting the two-wheeler. The car hit the divider and tumbled. One of those travelling by the car lost his life. The accident happened on Monday September 27.

The deceased was Raghunath Poojary (40) from Pakshikere Panja. Two others, Himakar Mattu and Kartik, escaped with minor injuries.

Raghunath was seated in the front seat of the car to the left of the driver. Due to the intensity of the accident, his head was crushed.

The divider has been cut in between to allow water to flow to the other side. Some two-wheeler riders are using this small gap to cross over to the other side. This is causing accidents here, it is learnt.
