Mangaluru: Konkani Natak Sabha office, renovated mini hall inaugrated

Mangaluru, Sep 28: The Konkani Natak Sabha (R) office at Don Bosco Hall was inaugurated by Konkani Natak Sabha president Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza OFM, Capuchin.

The renovated mini hall was inaugurated by Santhosh Sequeira of Santhosh Arrangers, Kankanady. Statue of Don Bosco was installed in the refurbished office. Former president of the Konkani Natak Sabha, Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza OFM, Capuchin, lighted the lamp and led the gathering into prayer.

In the formal programme, conducted in the Mini Hall, former president of the Konkani Natak Sabha, Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza OFM Cap, Mangalore diocese PRO Roy Castelino, Santhosh Sequeira, notable writer from the Muslim community, U H Umar, and executive committee members, president Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza OFM, Capuchin, vice-president Liston D’Souza, general secretary Floyd D’Mello, joint secretary Praveen Rodrigues, treasurer Gerald Concessao, and PRO Raymond D’Cunha were present on the dais.

Vice president Liston D’Souza welcomed the guests with a rose. Former president Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza spoke about the renovation of Don Bosco Hall and congratulated the efforts of the general committee in preserving Konkani culture.

Roy Castelino, Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza OFM, Capuchin, and U H Umar shared their thoughts on the occasion. The sponcer for the construction of the mini hall Santhosh Sequeira was felicitated with a shawl and flowers. He has donated Rs 5 lac for the cause.

General secretary Floyd D’Mello compered the inaugural programme. The contractors and the masons involved in the renovation of the Don Bosco Hall were given a rose as a token of appreciation. PRO Raymond D’Costa compered the formal programme. Treasurer Gerald Concessao rendered the vote of thanks. Over 100 Konkani Natak Sabha members and well-wishers were present for the programme.
