Kundapur: Kancharu lake developed under ‘Nammooru-Namma Kere’ project inaugurated

Kundapur, Sep 30: “Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Gramabhivridhi project has provided immense contribution to the people in the villages for savings, self-reliance and economic growth. The removal of silt reviving lakes creating awareness about water is commendable,” said Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty.

He was speaking after inaugurating 314th Kencharu lake developed in the participation of Kshetra Dharmastala Gramabhivridhi Yojane B C Trust, Kundapur, gram panchayat Amparu, Kencharu Kere Abhivridhi samithi and setting in motion the Nati programme in the banks of the lake.

“The project of providing drinking water to 79 thousand houses in Byndoor will materialize by October end. Houses will be constructed for the shelterless under Amrith project at Shankernarayana, Siddapur, Nada and Bijoor,” he said.

Kundapur Janajagruthi vedike founder president B Appanna Hegde inaugurated the hall programme. Trust chief executive Dr L H Manjunath offered Bagina to the lake. Amparu lake development committee president Shamaraj Bhat presided over the programme.

Project district director Ganesh B, coastal regional office Udupi project director Vasanth Salian, Amparu gram panchayat president Bharathi Shet, Janajagruthi Vedike Kundapur taluk president Navinchandra Shetty, Pragathibandhu Swasahaya Sanghagala Kendra Okkoota president Shobha Chandra was present.

Kundapur taluk senior project officer Muraleedhar K Shetty gave a keynote address. Chetan Kumar compered the programme. Amparu gram panchayat member Ashok rendered a vote of thanks.
