Puttur: Girl undergoing turmoil slices hand, hospitalised

Puttur, Oct 2: On Thursday, Adoor police had taken into custody two persons after a large crowd gathered in front of a house at Kuntikan in Koltige village. The crowd was angry that a Hindu girl was in the house of a youth from another faith.

On Friday October 1, the girl sliced her hand at a bus shelter after which she was admitted into hospital.

The girl had been produced in the first division court at Kasargod. The court had advised the girl to take steps as per her own discretion as she had crossed the age of 18. The girl told the court that she has no qualms in accompanying Siddique after which she was sent with her lover, Abubakker Siddique (24) from Bellare Kuntikan.

On Friday, the girl sliced her hand at Bashiradka bus shelter in Nettanige Mudnoor village. She was admitted into Puttur hospital. Sampya police visited the hospital. The police are yet to ascertain whether the injury was accidental or an attempt to end own life.
