BCCI Denies Any Understanding with Modi

New Delhi, Oct 21 (IANS) The Indian cricket board Thursday denied reports of any understanding with suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi.

Media reports, quoting Modi's lawyer Mohammed Abdi, said that Arun Jaitley, a member of the probe panel, met noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani, Modi's another lawyer, for a settlement here late Wednesday night.

But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refuted all such reports.

"Mr.Arun Jaitley and Mr.Ram Jethmalani met yesterday night for some other matter not connected to BCCI. The statement made by Mr. Mohammed Abdi, general counsel and constituted attorney of Mr. Lalit Kumar Modi, regarding some understanding being reached is totally false and BCCI denies the same," the BCCI said in a statement.

The Supreme Court has asked Modi and the BCCI to work out a compromise on the reconstitution of the disciplinary committee.
