Legislative Council elections: Vivek Raj Poojary files application at Congress party office

Mangaluru, Oct 3: Panama Corporation Limited’s CEO, chairman and youth leader Vivek Raj Poojary filed an application at the party office to contest from the Congress, in the forthcoming Legislative Council elections.

The tenure of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts Legislative Council seats will be completed in the month of December.

The Congress high command had directed the aspirants in the party to file the application at the party office. Hence, Vivek Raj Poojary filed an application.

"I have been in the Congress party for the past several years. Hence, I decided to contest the Legislative Council elections. Today, I have filed an application to the Congress high command. Selection of the candidate will be done by the party. I am confidenr that the party will provide me an opportunity.

“If the party provides me an opportunity, I can serve the party better. However, if the party selects any other candidate, as a sincere worker of the party, I will work for the victory of the candidate selected by the party," he said.

It may be recalled that Vivek Raj Poojary had helped several needy people during the covid-19 lockdown.
