Bantwal: Houses, agriculture land damaged due to heavy wind, rain

Bantwal, Oct 3: As many as 86 houses and agriculture land were damaged, due to heavy wind and rainfall in few villages of Bantwal Taluk on Saturday October 2 evening.

Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R on Sunday visited the places where damages to houses and agricultural lands were reported.

As many as 77 houses were partially damaged while 9 houses were completely damaged. In Badaga and Tenku Kajekaru, 65 houses were partially damaged and 8 houses severely damaged. In Uli, one house was severely damaged and 7 seven houses were partially damaged.

In Kavalamooduru village, five houses suffered damages, informed in-charge revenue inspector Kumar T C. Several areca and coconut trees, banana plants and rubber trees were uprooted due to heavy rain and wind.

Damages also reported to the agricultural land in Nelligudde, Agarthyaru, Mucchirodi. In Uli village, damages were reported to the houses of Lalitha, Ameena, Safiya, Shekar Poojary, Rukmini and Shivaram Devadiga. A house belonging to Nalini got damaged due to lightning in Narikombu village. Nearly 200 rubber trees were damaged on the land belonging to Ravi Salian in Badagakajekaru.
