Oct 17: DK’s corona tally rises by 22 cases; Udupi adds 12 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 17: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday October 17 reported 22 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.28%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 20,02,935 samples have been tested so far, out of which 18,87,849 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,086 out of which 325 are currently active.

As many as 37 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,13,086.

The death in the district on Sunday is nil. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,675.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,07,20,170 in fines for 88,274 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 11,84,598 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 12 new cases were reported on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 76,586 out of which 74 are currently active.

A total of 20 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,037 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 285 lives in the district.
