Bengaluru, Oct 20: In a strong attack on opposition Congress and JD(S) leaders for their criticism of RSS, State Home Minister Araga Jnanedra on Tuesday said the opposition parties were taking potshots at RSS with a view to win votes from the minority communities in the assembly by-elections.
Attacking both State Congress Chief D K Shivakumar and his JD(S) counterpart H D Kumaraswamy for their ‘’unjustified’’ criticism of the RSS, Jnandendra said: "RSS is an organisation founded by staunch patriotic Nationalists and is in the service of building a strong nation.’’
Strongly refuting the remarks of the JD(S) leader, the minister said: `Ever since the founding of the organisation, the RSS leaders and its members are engaged in working selflessly for the cause of upholding the unity, integrity and the ethos of the nation.’’
The minister said both Congress and JD(S) leaders are indulged in maligning the patriotic organization RSS.
He said "both the JD(S) and the Congress leaders are competing for each other with an eye on Minorities votes.’’
