Lazio Beats Palermo to Stretch Lead to 4 Points

Milan, Nov 1 (AP) Andre Dias scored the only goal of the match to give 10-man Lazio a 1-0 win away to Palermo.

The result stretches Lazio's lead in the Serie A standings to four points yesterday.

Lazio is top with 22 points, Inter Milan is second with 18 and AC Milan is a further point behind. All three have played nine games.

Dias scored in the 27th minute from a curling Mauri freekick to the far post.

Palermo was unable to find a way past Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, despite the Rome side going a man down after Giuseppe Biava was sent off with 13 minutes to go.

The Uruguayan pulled off several athletic saves to deny the Sicilian club an equalizer.
