Mangaluru, Nov 23: "The Narendra Modi led union government is completely controlled by the Sangh Parivar and engaged in the slavery of the corporate world. The citizens of India have lost trust in this government. Knowing this, the BJP is continuously trying to divide the people in the name of religion. The people of India should be aware of this and stay away from the Sangh Parivar mindset," said Shailaja Teacher, central committee member of CPI-M and former health minister of Kerala.
She was speaking at a public meeting held in Gurpur on Tuesday November 23. CPI-M district committee organised the public meeting on the occasion of its 23rd district conference.
She said, “The Sangh Parivar and BJP say that they are working for the Hindu community and towards a Hindu nation. But in reality, they are working for the upper caste people in the Hindu community. Even being Hindus, the Dalits and tribal are continuously attacked by the Sangh Parivar and its associated organisations. They want a class and caste-based society. They do not want Dalits to get educated and are dead against women empowerment. The incidents of attacks on Dalits and women in North India indicate RSS and Sangh Parivar led BJP's feudal mentality. A left mindset can only resist this mentality and bring equality in the society. CPI-M is already playing a major role in blocking Sangh Parivar's communal agenda and helping people to live without any fear of fundamentals and fanatics. Kerala is the best example for it.”
Attacking the union government’s corporate policies, she said, “Modi has already sold the majority of public sector organizations and pushed the citizens of the nation towards the slavery. The corporate world controls the day-to-day lives of the common people and the government. As per the instructions of Sangh Parivar, Modi brought three farmer bills and tried to push farmers into slavery. Through this, Reliance and other corporate tycoons got complete authority over the agricultural market. But the brave farmers fought against the move of the government. A year later, the farmers are victorious and succeeded in making Modi ask for forgiveness. This victory is a role model for all of us, especially the common man of India.”
In her speech, she also mentioned how Narendra Modi led genocide in Gujarat in 2002.
She explained in detail the Pinarayi Vijayan led LDF government's people friendly programmes in the first phase. She also said that the Vijayan government's victory for the second term is the result of good governance in the first phase.
Prior to the speech, the CPI-M district committee felicitated Shailaja offering Tulunadu's traditional farmers hat 'Muttale' and a frame of Yakshagana.
U B Lokayya presided over the stage programme.
Muneer Katipalla. president, CPI-M conference committee, delivered the introductory speech. Vasanth Poojary, Sadashiva Das, general secretary, Manoj Vamanjoor, Sunil Kumar Bajal, and other district committee members were present on dais.
Prior to the public meeting, a procession was held by thousands of party workers and supporters.
