Mangaluru: Unnoticed by fellow fishermen, man falls into sea, loses life

Mangaluru, Nov 26: Manoj, who was among the fishermen who left in a boat from the old port dock here for fishing activity, fell into the sea and lost his life. However, his address and other details are not available.

Manoj along with five other fishermen had left for fishing in the boat, 'Seabird' on November 23. At 4 pm that day, all the fishermen except the driver had gone to sleep after spreading out net. At about 6.30 pm, the driver who visited the cabin found that Manoj had disappeared. After a detailed search, his body was recovered from the sea.

It is felt that Manoj would have ventured near the edge of the boat for some reason, and would have lost his balance and fallen into the sea. The police personnel of Pandeshwar station here have given his physical features as height 5’4”, dark complexion, was wearing T-shirt with yellow and dark lines and shorts with gray colour checks. The family members of the deceased fishermen have been asked to contact Pandeshwar police station.
