Mangaluru, Nov 29: District health officer (DHO) Dr Kishore Kumar said, “Rigorous screening and testing of arrivals will take place at Talapady border.”
Replying to the queries regarding Covid testing at Talapady border, the DHO said, “As per the direction of the chief minister, Covid testing has already commenced at Talapady border today. Earlier Covid testing was in place which will be continued at the borders. After the second wave unlock, travellers with RT-PCR negative tests were allowed to enter the state from Kerala. From today, Covid testing has begun at the Talapady border.”
He also said, “We have directed college managements to conduct testing for the students who will be arriving to their respective colleges after November 12. Daily travellers from Kerala to Dakshina Kannada should undergo Covid tests once in 16 days. Even at the airport, tests will be conducted for the passengers who are arriving from other countries.
“People need not panic about the new variant omicron. We will keep an eye on people coming from other countries such as Netherlands and Hong Kong. People can take all kind of preventive measures,” he said.
