Sony TV drops parts of KBC episode following rationalist Narendra Nayak’s letter

Mangaluru, Nov 30: Sony Entertainment Television dropped a few parts of its special episode of ‘Midbrain Activation’ of its popular programme Kaun Banega Karodpati (KBC). The reason is the letter from rationalist and thinker Narendra Nayak.

Narendra Nayak had written an open letter to anchor of the programme Amitabh Bachchan saying that this episode, which gives a meaning of tuning the brain for special experiences, conveys the wrong message to the public.

Nayak also said that by giving propaganda to extra sensory powers, common sense is insulted. Nayak is the president of All India Rationalists’ Association.

“If the extra sensory power was real, then it would have been a great invention that would have got a Nobel Prize,” said Nayak in his letter.

Organizers of Kaun Banega Crorepati programme have written a letter to Narendra Nayak and confirmed that they are dropping the said parts of the episode.

    Thank you Prof. Narendra Nayak for your open letter to Amitabh. As mid brain activation is nothing but Pseudoscience. No doubt parents are so desperate to help their kids by throwing their hard earned money. It is a complete scam lack of scientific evidence to measure brain activity and the results of this dubious training.

    Do people still write letters ? (In this news item, Nayak has written to KBC). After writing letters, they need to post in postbox. Its 4-5 days to reach Mumbai. Then, it reaches KBC office- there office ppl need to open it among thousands of other documents. Then, big B needs to read it. From “rationale “ point, is it possible? If it has to be possible, then, only God’s intervention is needed ;)

    It due to extra sensory power that we believed we are superior beings in this universe and undermine all other living creatures. Because we can't digest the hard truths of life that we are just like other living being and our our existence meaningless. However we strive to call immortal even after death.     While there may be many questions that the rationalist may not be able to answer ,The underlying fact that people are fooled and scared of Gods ,godesses ,in the temple ,church or mosque is something mind boggling .The innocents are tried and tested to pay money for god and his curses . This is what I applaud Mr Nayak for . He is honest , Ethical and loving too Unlike the so called religious people of the so called religions who promise god and fool gullible people This old Man(Amitabh ) should wind up and stay at home ..go for morning walks with his dogs .. Let the youngsters do the job . These stars are useless and need to be dumped in a dump yard .. But its not his fault either ..He will show his drama as long there are followers admirers .

    Agree with you on all points Shetty Sir ! Beautifully put across. Especially the swindling part... which literally has an idiom of " putting the fear of God " to support it ! Now... the only point I want to make is ' Don't thrust your opinion on others " To each his own. Simple advice, if I may give is, don't Donate out of Fear !     Watching or not watching some particular show or channel is our choice. We must be wise enough to accept or reject the subject or ignore things which are far from truth. Meanwhile there are no restrictions for getting entertained from TV shows. We must teach our children that TV shows and movies are only for enjoyment and do not ever relate them to reality.

    It seems once a Rationalist who went all prepared for a debate with a believer asking for proof of existence of God, was asked what proof he had that God didn't exist? The rationalist had no answer. I think no one has either...Period. So it cuts both ways...For those who believe he is there HE is... then HE is....ಯದ್ಭಾವಂ ತದ್ಭವತಿ.... Right?

    Extra sensory power is already elevated since 2014 , symbol for that is two different colored chaddi's (pink and brown). Forget Common sense being insulted, its gone for dogs. Being blind is new trend ..if you dare to see ..you are gone case like me!...
