Asian Games Boxing: Kavita Settles for a Bronze


Guangzhou, Nov 24 (IANS) India's Kavita Goyat settled for a bronze after losing her semi-final bout to Jinzi Li of China in the women's boxing at the Asian Games here Wednesday.

Goyat lost 1-5 to in the 69-75 kg weight category.

The Chinese opened up a 3-1 lead in the first round and added two more points in the fourth round. Li will take on Mongolia's Undram Erdenesoyol in the final.

Later in the day, India's four-time world champion Mary Kom will take on another Chinese, Cancan Ren, in their semi-final in 48-51 kg.

In the men's event, as many as seven Indian boxers will compete in semi-finals in various weight categories.
