Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (PS)

Mangalore, Nov 29:
The district administration has set December 15 as the deadline for the self-eviction of illegal religious constructions as per the order passed by the Supreme Court.

This decision was taken at the officers’ meeting chaired by DC Subhodh Yadav, an official press release stated.

Addressing the meeting he said that many rounds of talks at taluk and district levels have been already held in the presence of religious leaders to implement this pro-people move. Appropriate steps have been taken to make the local people aware of this decision, he said.

Taluk panchayat CEOs and other officers informed that most people have come forward in support of the decision against the illegal structures.

As many as 1579 religious structures have been marked as illegal in the district, of which 152 are in Puttur, 150 in Kadaba, 363 in Mangalore, 352 in Bantwal, 298 in Belthangady, 136 in Sullia and 98 in Moodbidri.

The DC said that the district administration with the help of local administration will carry out the eviction operation on priority basis on those illegal structures which are not demolished by the parties concerned within the stipulated time limit.

The DC also directed the local officers to submit the priority list before December 10 and instructed them to coordinate with the police while preparing the priority list in order to make the process easy and fair, stated the press release.

SP Dr Subrahmanyeshwara Rao, additional DC Prabhakar Sharma, DCP Shree Ramesh, CEO P Shivshankar, Mangalore AC, Puttur AC, tahshildar of all the taluks among other officers were present.

When I used to travel from Udupi to Bombay, before Kundapur on the road side there is a small Hindu temple, Every bus which is bound for Bombay (Whether bus belong to Hindus, Muslims or Christians) will stop there, offer flower n prayer for safe journey then proceeds further. That means Indians believe in one GOD through different religions.
Nagesh Nayak wrote THERE IS A INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRACY TO WIPE OUT HINDUISM FROM THIS WORLD. I don’t think its true, Sonia Gandhi married to a Hindu Rajiv Gandhi n practicing Hinduism but people like Nagesh Nayak, every day torture her bcz of Christian n Italian origin. How do we expect people to convert to Hinduism if the fanatic mentality is not changed?

I PERSONALLY OPPOSE DEMOLITION OF TEMPLES : NAGESH NAYAK

Then, all the slogans you sang in praise of Narendra Modi are pseudo because Modi is so true to his plans for development that he demolished every structure came on its way irrelevant to what religion it belonged to. In-fact, no true Indian should stop development on the excuse of religion.

Common Nagesh Nayak, going by what is proved here, you are a betrayer of Hinduism and of all those whom you have been hailing all these days contrary to those whom you have branded as being betrayers here.

Shriman Nagesh Nayakji.. Neither the DC saab is a Muslim nor a Christian and the Supreme Court is neither funded by any Muslim Organization nor any Christian Institution. Any structure if it is built illegally either it is a temple or mosque , it should be razed irrespective of any personal sentiments. Shriman DC saab is just implementing the order of the Supreme court. If you were in his position you would have done the same thing. In your previous comment you said this move is against Hinduism, if so why your own people are against your religion? aren't they satisfied in the philosophy of that religion? come on man. try to understand. While you are in a public service you must obey the orders from the higher authority and to carry out it to the fullest extent. Secondly in the same comment you said there is no hindrance to public from such structures. Please take a couple of days leave and come out from your den and travel between Udupi and Talapady, Manjeshwara ( Border of Kerala) where you can see in the road side any trees are hardly left without "Katte" with names on it such as Vishnu moorthy katte, Arasu manjisnaar, Koraga Thaniya, Ullalthi, Panjurli, Bobbarya, Bhagavathi, Nagabana, Ayyappa Katte, Ali Chamundi, Brhama Baidarkala, Veeranjaneya etc... Pls don't sit somewhere and write something as if you are the only genius and the rest are idiots.. Jai Ho.. sorry India Shining..

Any unauthorized construction belong to any religion must be demolished if it’s obstructing the pedestrians on road side. Not to bring the God on the road. All religious leaders must support Supreme Court orders, must not misguide the public with their fanatic views.

Really its good move and should be implemented without any discremination. Religion surely is not an hurdles to the person or the Soceity in general. Its a boon to human sufferings. The followers should see that it does not affect adversely to others in any manner. True Religion brings fear of Almighty and inculcate piety in personality. So to be a good human being and responsible citizen, man should first understand and follow the religion.

Honorable Supreme court has given this order, keeping the interest of the public, for the smooth flow of the traffic on the roads. It doesn't mean that one has to remove all illegal construction. But our administration is just interested in removing all the construction. The need of the hour for the smooth traffic is repairs of all the roads. Why administration can spend money towards repairs of these roads, instead of spending in such activities???? Absolutely Nonsense !!

We show scant respect for humanity and concern for the fellow citizens And think God will protect us no matter what wrong we do. Illegal structures are illegal structures and government must be impartial in removing them causing hindrance to public in such a populated country with narrow roads. You will always find people protesting for any work you do. Go ahead with your good work Mr. Subhodh Yadav at least God will not be against you.

This had to be done long long back. Good that it is being done now. Better late than never. No one should have any objection as they are illegal. Even if they are saved now they can always face the axe in the future. It is a very very fundamental decision by Mr Ponnuraj and as the law abiding citizens of a democratic and secular country everyone should support this move.

It is very sad to say that religions have been used as a tool to encroach
lands and making money the easiest
    way, and the gullible believers
    are repeatedly duped. When this
is going to end? Clear all the
    fast made temporary sheds of
    religious shows, because such
    places are causing even many
    death through traffic accidents.
God is not in the killing business.

By implementing Supreme Court order, the DC might become less popular with some narrow minded "religious" outfits and with goondas. The vast majority and the educated will support the move. Politicians won't gain much mileage by supporting some illegal religious structures as it is supreme court order. At least we can be proud of our Supreme Court.

In any country, religion is a private affair. India is a nation of multiple faiths hence all religions should be respected with equal importance. We find that the believer of one faith put the picture of his god in the place of work and venerate them. There are incidents of public places are used to erect pandals and to make religious functions on the expenses of the public and that should be banned.
In the name of god, we create nuisance in the public places to the believer of other faith. The god should be revered with high esteem and they should not be used anywhere and everywhere as a common tool to solve one’s personal problems.

Good move and courageous decision. All the issues must clear as per Supreme Court verdict and DC should be bold enough to take right action on every illegal act. It is every citizen must think and act accordingly and no one must follow the blind believe. DC should not give any excuses or should not show any consideration to any political or religious groups. Every citizen must follow the law and order. We must give hand in hand to DC to do the right things and bring all illegal activities in his notice.
