Dubai: 'Mogachi Lahran' Provides Splendid Musical Treat
Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai

Dubai, Dec 10: 'Mogachi Lahran' a musical brand created and promoted by Vincent Fernandes witnessed one more successful show at Al Nasr Leasurland, Poolside, Dubai on Thursday December 9 evening.

Vincent along with talented young artistes presented the show after a gap of year. Vincent's seventh edition of musical album 'Mogachi Lahran Vol-7' was released during the programme by J L Dsouza, Alex Dcunha and Walter Nandalike.

John Monteiro of JAKC, noted singer Rathan Castelino, Herman Lewis of Radio Spice, Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld.com, and music director Ramiro were also present on the stage.

Speaking on the occasion, on behalf of all guests on the stage, Walter Nandalike said that though Vincent took a while in releasing his 7th volume, he has maintained his consistency as well as his enterprising ability to try new things in Konkani music. Today's young artistes should learn from him, as quite a few youngters nowadays stop releasing music albums after their first one. There may be various reasons for that, but to be recognised in society as a musician, one needs to be consistent. Walter hailed the sponsors and supporters of Vincent without whose support he would not have been able attain success.

Rathan Castelino, a talented singer who had rendered many songs on Wilfy Rebimbus' albums as well as in musical nites was honoured by Vincent Fernandes for his support.

Earlier, the musical event started at around 9 pm with a welcome dance by little children.

Vincent made a grand entry to the show with his 'Axelo' song with Ramiro and Benny. His innovativeness was evident with video clips adding expression to the songs. Vincent Fernandes himself developed the concept and edited the videos. At least six songs were displayed on the screen during the live show.

Vincent was well supported by artistes both on instruments as well as vocals.

Dony Correa, Asha Correa, Preema, Reshma, Mario Rego, Loveeta, Brian Fernandes, Jeevan, Ashok, Aron, Godwin, Sharlane, Carolyne, Savannah, Veera, Rachel and others rendered their beautiful voices to the musical nite.

The brighter side of the show was a stunning performance by young children who sang Konkani songs with keen interest under the training and supervision of Vincent Fernandes. The children from Sharjah presented group songs, and were admired by the audience.

All the songs performed on the occasion were composed and put into tune by Vincent Fernandes.

Pradeep Barboza, Deepak Dsilva and his troupe entertained the audience with side-splitting humour.

Uttam Menezes, well-known compere of UAE took charge of the evening with command over the language and superb sense of timing.

Vincent Fernandes has compiled and dedicated a song in tribute of late legendary singer Wilfy Rebimbus.

I was one of those who hadwitnessed this event and comment that -
Except for a couple of Songs the rest were sung proffessionally by elders.
The Stage, Lights setting, Screens, Equipment, Sound system was marvellous.
The Musicians were excellent and remarkable..
Costumes were used as per the required sequence / song & theme.
Hats off to the Choreographers and the Children who sang & danced.
Much time was not wasted for honouring off Sponsors like others.
If there was a slow number the next should have been a Children’s item.
Tickets should have been hiked slightly and a meal should have included.

We as parents never hesitate and will spend any amount of money to push our children too hard in studies so that they come out in Fly colours. But we will hesitate and refuse to spend a penny to push our children too hard to learn konkani Language.

Promoting Konkani Language or Literatures is a good and humble thought. In fact it is the parents (including mine) I hold responsible for not promoting mother tongue Konkani within the family. They say Charity begins at home and learing our mother tongue begins from home. We adopt neither of it. We as parents have the insecurity that if we speak in Konkani to our kids at home or anywhere then they will find it difficult to communicate with outer world in English. I remember someone had told me many years back that "Konkani is a servants Language". Hearing that was like a volcano about to erupt in me. Has anybody realised that in Mangalorean's Catholic wedding I get to hear English and Hindi Items Lousy Songs. Did we ever sit back and listen to Konkani Song for any Mangalorean Konkani WEdding. Mark my Words, the amount of soothing, satisfaction it gives to our mind, body and heart, which I will never get in English and Hindi. Of course Old Hindi and English songs are really good (Country Music) but even old konkani songs are too too good. It is time that we as parents need to promote konkani language on a war footing not only at home but also in public life. Kids watch their parents actions, moments and follow it and if we speak in konkani they will also follow our footsteps. We need to remove that insecurity and at home talk in both languages Konkani and English. We parents grew up in a konkani atmosphere and made a mark in outside world that is dominated in English.

Hi Rachu my Pichu, nice Photos. Hope you and mum had a nice time. In a way Indoor extra curricular activities every week during holidays is absolutely good for today kids as they lack interest for outdoor games and also there is no open ground facilities.

The evening was really an organizational success. Good planning, excellent orchestration by Ramiro, beautiful singing by (all the) stars, pleasant ambience and extremely well-knit itinerary of events. The felicitation of Ratan was indeed belated. He is such a great singer.

Full marks to Mario & Reshma’s singing & Uttam’s impeccable style of MCeeing. A loud clap for the efforts by the youngsters (their presentation was indeed extraordinary). The video effects were superb. A milestone from Vincy.

Once again the sound did not fail to give the usual share of ‘kar-kar’. But overall, Paisa vasool.
