Karwar, Feb 7: BJP national general secretary, C T Ravi, felt that by the way Siddaramaiah, who is an opponent for Congress reformation, has been behaving of late, it appears that he has been occupied by the communal ghost.
He was speaking to media persons during his visit here on Sunday February 6 to attend the marriage function of BJP MLA Roopali Naik. He expressed the opinion that as far as education is concerned, it is improper to bring in communalism or secessionism. He insisted that Islamist organization and the Congress were working behind the Hijab controversy. He blamed Siddaramaiah for acting as if he has been captured by a communal ghost. For him, communal vote bank appears more important than the society, he commented.
Ravi explained that wearing of uniforms is compulsory in educational institutions since long. "Wearing of Hijabs which is against the principle of equality, is improper. Our country had earlier followed the evil practices of wife entering the funeral pyre of husband, child marriage and untouchability etc. But they were banned to bring reforms and enforce equality. In case of violations, legal steps are taken. But at any cost, wearing of Hijabs in the name of old practice is not justifiable. Ravi pointed out that wearing of burqa and running of Madrassas is banned in China. He said that if they are found to be detrimental to the security of the country, even Madrassas will be banned.
When questioned about the rumours of BJP legislators crossing over to the Congress, he said that intelligent people do not board a sinking ship like the Congress. He also commented that the BJP is sure to be voted to power in Goa.
