Mangaluru, Feb 7: Ullal police raided the house of one Francis at Chembugudde of Permannur in the taluk on definite information that the accused is transferring liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from domestic gas cylinders to commercial ones though artificial regulators without any safety. The accused absconded from the spot.
It is alleged that accused Francis used to carry out the illegal work in a shed made of aluminium sheets adjacent to his house. He used to keep the empty commercial cooking gas cylinder below and used to fill the same with domestic gas cylinder that was kept on top of it without any safety precautions.
The police confiscated 15 gas cylinders of various companies of domestic as well as commercial ones, one full cylinder filled with oxygen and 112 empty cylinders the total cost of which said to be Rs 1.92 lac.
A case in this regard is filed in Ullal police station as per the complaint filed by food inspector. The police are on the lookout for the absconding accused.
Inspector Sandeep G S, ASI Shivakumar K, personnel Mahesh, Reji, Udaya, Sagar, food inspector of Ullal zone Harris, acting food inspector Rekha and team were involved in the operation.
