Bantwal, Feb 23: A person from Annadka village in this taluk lost his life when playing cricket, in the cricket ground. The incident happened at Kakyapadavu in the taluk on Sunday.
Manohar Prabhu (45) is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter. Prabhu was a progressive farmer and an accomplished cricketer.
Prabhu not only played cricket locally but also represented several cricket teams. He was an all-round player. On Sunday, he had represented a local cricket team and had dazzled in two games held at the league level, both in bowling and batting. Due to his efforts, his team had won both the games and he was adjudged the man of the match.
He was ready for the third match of the day when he suffered from acute chest pain. He collapsed to the ground. He was taken to hospital but he breathed his last before reaching there.
