Karkala: Silver Jubilee celebration of C E Kamath Institute for artisans inaugurated

Karkala, Feb 24: Silver Jubilee of C E Kamath Institute for artisans, Karkala was held on February 22, 2022 here in Miyaru Karkala.

C E Kamath Institute for artisans is a institute involved in providing training for the artisans. The institute is sponsored by Canara bank Centenary rural development trust.

Inaugurating the Silver jubilee celebrations, A Manimekhalai, executive director Canara Bank said, "Canara bank has been one of the prominent banking institute. We are standing at fourth position. Canara Bank has provided its lending to the employment sectors also. Along with Mudra loans, Canara bank has also setup training institutes for the skill developments. Ammembala Subba Rao ahs collected the deposits by visiting the households, the institution has grown to this level today," she said.

A Muralikrishna, GM FI Wing addressing the gathering said, "Even though the C E Kamath institute for artisans is located in the rural area, tourists are attracted towards this place as it is located just near the highways. Lot of tourists are visiting this place and it ahs helped the artisans to showcase their talents," he said.

Rama Naik, GM Circle Office Manipal speaking on the occasion said, "Institute for artisans was founded in 1997. More than 984 students have trained in this institute and are making a living. No other banking institute in India is providing such facility," he said.

Panduranga Prabhu, director Yogish Acharya, GM circle office Mangaluru and others were present on the occasion.

Kali, DGM Canara bank Manipal proposed the vote of thanks. Harish Nayak, Ravikala compered the programme.
