Mangaluru, Feb 25: A person who called some other number thinking it to be the customer care number of Flipkart, eventually lost Rs 48354.

The person concerned had ordered for a key bunch from Flipkart. He had not received it even after 12 days. He therefore had searched for the phone number of Flipkart customer care. He somehow got a number and rang the number but no one responded. He then got a call from that number from a person who spoke in Hindi.

The man told him that his order could not be executed. He therefore advised the caller to download Anydesk app so that his money could be refunded. The customer downloaded the app as instructed. Later, as per instructions received over phone, he opened Flipkart app and mentioned debit card details and CVV number. Immediately thereafter a sum of Rs 48,354 was debited to his account in instalments.

A case of cheating in this connection has been registered in cyber crime, economic offences and narcotics (CEN) police station in the city.
