Udupi: Sabitha Koraga becomes first woman from her community to secure PhD

Udupi, Feb 26: Sabitha Koraga from Gundmi, Sastan became the first woman from the Koraga community to secure a PhD.

Sabitha Koraga is currently serving as assistant professor in department of sociology in Mangalore University.

She was awarded doctoral degree for her thesis titled ‘Evaluation of policies and programmes of tribal development of Karnataka state’.

She submitted her thesis under the guidance of Prof Jogan Shankar, retired professor of Sociology of Mangalore University.
