Kundapur: Carmel Ashram celebrates Infant Jesus feast

Kundapur, Feb 27: Infant Jesus feast was celebrated on a grand scale at Carmel Ashram, Koteshwar –Kundapur. Devotees thronged to hear Brother Prakash and his team preaching a spirit-filled retreat for 3 days in preparation for the feast.

On February 26, at 5 pm, Fr Praveen Frank the Regional Vicar of Tanzanian Carmelite Mission officiated at the Eucharist and preached the Word of God. Invoking the theme of the forthcoming Synod he said we are people of faith and as people of faith let us  trust in each other here on earth so that along with everyone we could go to heaven.


 

Brother Prakash D Souza concluding the three days retreat conducted the adoration for an hour prior to the Solemn Euchairst which was followed by honoring the donors of the feast. Fr Alwyn Sequeira, Superior of Carmel Ashram thanked all, for their wholehearted cooperation for the success of the feast. Fr Stany Tauro, the Dean of Kundapur Deanery wished all a blissful feast of Infant Jesus and praised the Carmelites for making this place an oasis of prayer and devotion in the diocese.

Fr Deep Fernandes, the Councilor in charge of Spirituality prepared the Liturgy and Fr. Alwyn conducted the Choir. Fr Francis Bartholomev was taking care of the needs of the devotees and managed the sacristy. Fr Cyril Menezes oversaw the confessional ministry. Around 20 diocesan and religious priests concelebrated the Eucharist.

Earlier Fr Prakash D’Cunha Provincial Councilor of Temporalities cut the ribbon and inaugurated the newly built parlour cum guest room and Fr Archiebald Gonsalves former Provincial of the Carmelites , invoked God’s Blessings on the new edifice. All devotees were served meals at the end of the Mass.
