Mangaluru: Milk producers to get one rupee per litre special incentive

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 1: At the board meeting of Dakshina Kannada Milk Union, it has been decided to give additional one rupee special incentive per litre of milk to members of the milk producers’ cooperative societies falling within the union jurisdiction. This will be effective from March 1 to April 30.

Because of covid19 which spread all over the country, the sale of milk and milk products were seriously hampered. Resultantly, the purchase price had been downwardly revised. As the market is looking up now, and taking into account the current sale of milk and milk products of Nandini brand, it has been decided to increase the milk purchase incentive to encourage the dairy farmers. By adding one rupee special incentive, the purchase price of good quality milk has been fixed at Rs 30 per litre, said president of the union, Raviraj Hegde, in a release.
