Sullia: Cutting machine accident - Worker dies after suffering injuries

Sullia, Mar 3: In an incident which happened at Aivarnadu in the taluk on Wednesday March 2, a worker died after coming in contact with a cutting machine and suffering serious injuries.

The deceased was Dayanand (37), son of Ramappa Poojary from Aivarnadu Natikeri. He was hired to work in a house construction site at Madthila. In the afternoon, he was cutting a wooden plank with the help of a cutting machine when the machine accidentally slipped out of his hands and came in contact with his thigh.

Dayanand, who was seriously injured when the machine sliced through his thigh, was rushed to the government hospital here but it is learnt that he breathed his last due to excessive bleeding. Dayanand is survived by mother, wife, a son and a daughter.

Based on a complaint made by the mother of the deceased, a case has been registered in Bellare police station.
