Madikeri, Mar 3: In an incident reported from Kallur village within Kodagarahalli gram panchayat limits, a man killed his uncle by firing at him with a gun relating to property dispute. The deceased in the case was Dharmappa (53) while Shivakumar (38) is the murder-accused.
Manku and Dharnappa were brothers who settled in Kallur village. They had a five acre plantation, about the partnership dispute relating to which there used to be discussions now and then between the two families, it is said. It is learnt that on the night of March 1, the two families had again discussed this issue till 2 am the next day and arrived at a decision.
Shivakumar was worried that his family did not get good amount of pepper during harvesting. At 9 am on March 2, when Dharnappa was going to the plantation to harvest pepper, he fired from his double barrel gun and murdered his uncle, reports said.
