Kundapur: One killed, two injured when unloading marble slabs

Kundapur, Mar 4: In an accident which happened when unloading marble slabs near the Kanchugodu beach in Trasi, one of the workers died and two others survived with serious injuries. This incident happened at about 6 pm on Thursday March 3.

A private resort is being constructed near the Kanchugodu beach. Marble slabs had been brought from West Bengal for undertaking construction work at the resort. The truck carrying the load of marbles arrived on Wednesday and a team of five to six workers could unload half the quantity by Thursday evening as it is a heavy load. At about 6 pm, when a huge marble slab was being unloaded, it slipped and fell on the three workers handling it.

The locals tried to protect those who came under the weight of the heavy marble. Ibrahim Gangolli reached there immediately with his ambulance and admitted all the three into a private hospital in Kundapur. One of the injured workers lost his battle for survival in the hospital while the other two are out of danger.

Gangolli police who visited the spot and gathered the details, have registered a case.
