Kundapur, Mar 4: In an incident reported from Gulvady near here, a youth died by suicide after the girl with whom he was in love with for years refused reciprocate his love.
Rizwan (26) from Vandse in the taluk ended his life. He was reportedly in love with a girl from Gangolli for the last three years. The girl had recently rejected his love, which had caused him mental depression, it is said.
Rizwan had tried to end his life at his home on March 2 but had changed his decision at the instance of the family members who dissuaded him from doing so. Later, the owner of the firm for which he worked, identified as Irfan, had taken him away for work. At night he went to sleep. At about 7.45 am the family members saw that he had ended his life.
