Kasargod: Man trying to douse plantation fire charred to death

Kasargod, Mar 4: A person who was trying to put off the fire that was ravaging his cashew plantation, was charred to death. This incident happened at Badagam on Thursday March 3 afternoon.

The victim has been identified as gGopal (70), a native of Kundampara, Pallatungal in Bedagam. The fire had ignited in his plantation at Kundampara Ponnankayaremotta on Thursday afternoon. Gopal was fighting to extinguish the fire which was spreading to his four acre plantation. When doing so, he caught fire and was burnt alive. Even though he was rushed to the hospital with severe burn injuries, his life could not be saved.
