Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SS)

Mangaluru, Jul 13: The concrete road here got raptured on July 12 morning due to sea erosion.

Many houses are on the verge of collapse.

The KPTCL tower at Kulooru near Phalguni river has fallen affecting power supply to Kodigal area which is getting power feed from Kavooru.

As works are under way to build an overbridge, flow of river water has been unidirectional due to accumulation of mud and construction material in the area leading to the fall.

Due to soil erosion, contract material and implements worth Rs 12 lac have been destroyed.

According to UN reports on account of Global warming, many cities around the world will be under water in less than 100 years time. The only way to save these cities is the government MUST build dykes, dams, water inlets, etc. etc. in line with the European cities like Amsterdam, Milan, Venice etc. The most effected cities in India will Mumbai, Kochi, Mangalore, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Thiruvanathapuram and to save these cities the government should spend Crores of rupees remodeling these cities in India as they will be under water.
