Very sad.Now it will be very sad to return to kuwait without this boy.One family member is missing ,who God has chosen to be in his garden. There he will be safe under his guidence and looking down to parents telling not to cry ,but pray for him.Now we cant help much at this point and join to say may his soul rest in peace. It was a accidental fall or drowned.I say to parents ,kindly dont think why you didnt take care. But things happen sometimes ,that we cant stop it.God wanted this child. Now nothing helps but pray so that you may unite with him in Heaven and he will be happy.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Dear Rita, please don't put more depressive thoughts in the minds of the grieving family by saying "they will not be able to go back to Kuwait without the son"; after all, life has to go on! Sorry for correcting you!

Joshua, open wells ("thalen" in Konkani) were very common in rural areas where majority of families thrived on agriculture, mostly growing paddy and vegetables till the advent of areca, which was easy and highly profitable wherein majority of fields were converted to Areca plantations!!

Kids who are born and brought up in Gulf do not have any experience of countryside compared to the kids of UK, US, AUS & Canada. They get excited seeing the rain, ponds, well, river, lakes paddy fields & lavish green world around them. Its a surprise for them when they see dogs, cats, cows, hens at their house. Also they encounter the wild animals , snakes, bees, birds, insects. I have noticed these kids they just walk and walk and do not even notice path holes or ponds. They do not know the danger of it , they are innocent, ignorant. Parents should make them understand the beauty and the danger of our natural native places once they reach. This is heartbreaking. Inconsolable parents.

Really devastating incident for parents and sibling especially...lesson to be learnt from this incident is that parents of children who are born and brought up in gulf and overseas countries should first tell their children a 100 times before boarding the flight that safety norms does not exist in india...so not to venture into anything that looks harmeless. there are no fences, no sign boards and danger everywhere...probably only warning of this nature can save children from meeting such tragic death..

I hate to say this ...but parents should have taken extra precautions especially since they came from Kwt and Gulfie kids simply want to enjoy the rains and nature during holidays ..innocent life lost due to negligence of elders. My advise to Gufl visitors.. do not allow kids to drive ,cycle, ride bikes , beach visits, play in water-bodies and climb trees ..unless supervised or accompanied by local elders.

Its easy to say this after the tragedy has happened. Lets be practical. How much can/will u supervise a five year old?

Mathew Udupi..if you love your child you need to supervise your child especially at this point of time. Our areas are submerged and excess rains created issues in many parts of Karnataka. Parents need to be very careful with their kids especially when they come from Gulf as child may not experience rain in Gulf and while seeing rain the child definitely gets so much excited. This kid is just 5 years old and parents attention was very much needed. Sad to see such incidents happening. May the little child's soul rest in peace.

Sir, children born and brought up in india only don't fall in water and die?? Have you never heard about it... No parents would neglect their child intentionally.. this is just the fate and you just can't blame elders without knowing the truth.. Death is not in our hands..

Very sad incident... Must be heartbreaking for the parents and family... Small kids are perennial source of joy and their demise like this can be devastating for the loved ones... Small children must never be left unsupervised near water bodies and electrical/fire points... RIP to the little Angel...
