Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 15: Dakshina Kannada on Friday July 15, reported eight new coronavirus cases while six cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,998 out of which 42 are currently active. As many as 9 patients were discharged on July 15.
No deaths were reported on July 15. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.02 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Six coronavirus cases were reported on July 15. The total active Covid cases are 21.
A total of 10,89,128 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,79,479 have received both doses and 1,26,109 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported five cases while Kundapur added one case.
