Bantwal: Biker arrested for abuse, attempt to assault govt official in car

Bantwal, July 16: A bike rider was accused of abuse and attempt to assault a government official here at Thumbay on Saturday, July 16.

The rider broke the car glass and tried to assault the official. A case has been filed at Bantwal town police station by Devdas who was driving the car.




Accused Mohammed Shamsuddin 

Devdas was driving a car from Puttur to Mangaluru, along with three other government officials of Zilla Panchayath as they were returning from a meeting at Puttur.

Devdas said in his complaint that a vehicle driving in front of their car applied sudden brakes due to which Devdas also had to apply brakes. The two-wheeler which was right behind the official car got skidded.

Later, the two-wheeler rider identified as Mohammed Shamsuddin (22), a resident of Sajipa abused the officials and damaged the mirror and glass panes of the car.

Meanwhile, the Bantwal rural police have arrested the accused under IPC sections 341, 353, 504, 506, 427 and 2(a) KPDLP actand produced him to the court.
