William's Wedding to Have Chocolate Biscuit Cake

London, March 27 (IANS) Prince William has asked a British biscuit company to create a chocolate biscuit cake for his wedding in addition to the official wedding cake.

The official wedding cake will be made by Fiona Cairns bakers.

William asked McVitie's to create one of his favourite sweet treats - a chocolate biscuit cake - specially for the event, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The biscuit company received the recipe from the Buckingham Palace kitchen.

Paul Courtney, the firm's cake design and development head chef, said he was proud to have got the task of making the cake for William.

"It's an unbaked cake and it will be made in a test bakery where we develop new products as our factory lines are too big. It has a couple of secret ingredients we can't tell you about but it will have dark chocolate, to give it a really nice flavour, and use rich tea biscuits that will be broken up," he said.

McVitie's has made many cakes for the royal family since the marriage of George V to Queen Mary in 1893. They also baked the official cake for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's diamond wedding anniversary in 2007.
