Udupi: Miss India Sini Shetty receives grand welcome in hometown

Udupi, Jul 19: Femina Miss India winner Sini Shetty received a grand welcome in her hometown here on Tuesday July 19.

Sini was accorded a grand welcome and was taken in a procession from Jodukatte to Ammanni Rammanni Shetty hall. She offered prayers at the Siddivinayaka temple.

Speaking to media in Tulu, Sini said, "I am overwhelmed by the welcome I have received herein my hometown today. My grandmother has been my biggest support. I am grateful to her. She was always supportive. She is my inspiration. I am eager to spend time with her. I visited and took blessings from Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Devi yesterday.”

Sini was excited to see her grandmother on the occasion and could been seen sharing some great moments with her. Parents Sadananda Shetty and Hema Shetty also accompanied Sini.

The newly crowned Miss India will be visiting a few temples in the district.

    Congratulations! You have certainly made the citizens and residents of Udupi proud. God bless you and your outstanding achievement and name for our small town Udupi, that has been recently marred by Racism, sadly by our own locals who should instead focus on humanity and humility that will better the image of Udupi internationally for tourists from western countries and from other states in India.
