What sort of precautions a common illinformed man who uses overcrowded public transport and other facilities, other than follow basic hygeine? Unnecessary panic is being spread to aid the pharma cartel! BTW, recent IT raid on a pharma company manufacturing a famous brand of paracetamol 650 mg revealed that they had blown 1000 crores only as incentive for the medical professionals which included even escort services! Just imagine how greed has spread into a so called nobel profesion? The just require a reason to keep the wheels of money making cartels moving! As Monty has told, it's a self limiting viral infection with low fatality rate of 3 % requiring only symptomatic care! The administration should be talking about how to increase the nutrition of the common man so that he gains immunity; the sorriest thing is that 71% of our population cannot afford proper meals every day as per a report in DH! Unless we ameliorate this problem, common people will definitely have a higher propensity to catch the infection!!

Monkey pox spreads more due to direct contact and body fluids.Spread through droplets through air is rare. It is more common in homosexuals (MSM), males and certain color of skin. Some countries in Europe have already started manufacturing of smallpox vaccines for succeptible persons, for prevention of monkeypox. Here in India we need to be careful not worried. Hospitalization mortality and morbidity is low. Avoid direct contact (and through body fluids) , wash hands after comming home , with soap - no sanitizer required( which we even otherwise do). We may not require smallpox vaccine for monkeypox, but we may require smallpox vaccine for smallpox if the virus is introduced due to bioterrorism, Be Happy Be Healthy.
