Kundapur, Jul 28: Karkataka Amavasya fair was held at Achina Maraswamy Maharajaswamy Varaha temple by the side of highway between Maravanthe sea and river on Thursday, July 28.
A huge crowd of devotees thronged the temple right from the morning as it was sunny. Some bathed in the river and the sea and took the darshan of Lord and offered Abhisheka, Pooja, Arpana. Prasadam was distributed to all the devotees.
Administrative committee and service team of members ensured cleanliness, pooja, arrival and departure of devotees. The temple was decorated beautifully with flowers. Devotees standing in line could be seen on NH 66.
Gangolli police and coast guard force with Traffic police of Kundapur took necessary steps to ensure safety of devotees and also smooth flow of traffic on the highway.
MLA Sukumar Shetty, former MLA Gopala Poojary, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, Raju Poojary and other eminent personalities visited the temple and took darshan of Lord.
Sathish M Nayak, president of management committee of temple and the temple priest were present.
Kundapur DySP Srikanth, Byndoor CI Santhosh Kaikini, SI Vinay and SIs of various police stations ensured security of devotees.
