Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 28: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday July 28, reported twenty new coronavirus cases while eight cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,197 out of which 80 are currently active. As many as 16 patients were discharged on July 28.
One death was reported on July 28. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,854.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.34 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Eight coronavirus cases were reported on July 28. The total active Covid cases are 24.
A total of 10,89,728 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,80,930 have received both doses and 1,63,190 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported seven cases and Karkala added one.
