Mangaluru, Jul 31: A total of five cases have been filed in CEN police station against people who have posted objectionable posts on social media with regards to the recent murder that took place in the city.
A case has filed against posting a fake message on social media saying that there is a possibility of huge communal outburst in coastal districts as per information available with state intelligence.
The second case has been filed against a post in which call had been given to take revenge against the murder of Praveen Nettaru.
In the third case, posts on Facebook, Whatsapp calling for revenge for the murder of Fazil at Suratkal are considered as anti-social and a case has been filed.
The fourth case has been filed in which a post says that 10 murders will be committed against one killing of Mangaluru.
The fifth case has been filed against the call given to murder a certain caste and community on Whatsapp, Facebook, Comments on news column, print electronics, You Tube digital etc.
According to the police, information is available about many people discussing on the recent killing that has taken place in Mangaluru city on social media including Whatsapp groups. So far five cases have been filed and investigation is in progress.
Additional monitoring is being done on social media like Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger and other media. Suitable action is being taken against those who are posting objectionable messages and comments.
