Udupi, Jul 31: A district Bajrang Dal leader has alleged that there was a failed bid to attack him on Sunday, July 31.
The alleged incident has been reported in Kaup police station limits.
According to the suspicion rised with the police by Sudheer Sonu, Bajrang Dal convener of Kaup, two youths had come to his house on July 31 morning and asked him to meet a person by the name Asif who they said was waiting in a car outside. The duo informed him that Asif wanted to meet Sudheer and speak with him. But Sudheer who got suspicious under the prevailing circumstances, Dakshina Kannada district Sudheer refused to go. While the duo returned, Sudheer and his wife allegedly noticed that the youths were carrying sharp weapons with them. Sudheer informed Shirva police and filed a petition about the same.
Speaking with the reporters about the incident Sudheer Sonu said, "Two youths came to my house and around two to three persons were waiting in the car. When I asked what's the matter, they insisted that I go near the car. I refused and noticed weapons with them. No communal incident has happened in Udupi so far. Let us all stay strong and stay united. I have filed a complaint and have been assured that the matter will be investigated."
However, police sources said that all the people who had come in the car had been traced and investigated but nothing suspicious was found.
