Prohibitory orders under Mangaluru commissionerate to continue till 6 am on Aug 5

Mangaluru, Aug 1: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has extended section 144 throughout Mangaluru police commissionerate till 6 am on August 5.

Since the situation is volatile in the region following the murders in Bellare and Surathkal, as a precautionary measure, barring essential services all other public activities, businesses and establishments will continue to remain closed from 6 pm to 6 am till on August 5.

    These have no clue about what is hapenning. Time to change this administration. Meanwhile with this se tion 144 and night curfew looks like they still are clueless . what is being transported with clear roads at night while all are indoors?...any body knows?

    This is very frustrating news. Instead of helping the situation it is causing more panic. And the only outcome that I see is the next morning that you venture out, all you find is that more and more concreted roads are being battered and dug up. Mangalore currently looks more like a war torn zone. FAR from being a smart city . When will the authorities wake up to attend to these issues. I urge you that if people are made to stay home for whatever reason, please attend to the CIVIC NEEDS of the city on a War footing.

    A very bad decision by the police and district administration. This is not the way forward, this will cause severe damage to the battered economy. We have not seen such decisions even when there was communal violence in the past. How long can it go on and who will compensate the buisness community. This has now become a way to say by the district administration that we are doing something, in reality they are only creating panic by not letting the district come back to normalcy. I would like to know what will district administration do if there is a muder on 6th, shut down the city for one more week . . This is not a workable solution. These adminstrator are holding transferable posts, any damage to the image of the district does not matter to them. By imposing such curfews they severely damage of the district effecting all forms of commerce. People are now hesitating to invest in Mangalore due to this. Who will compensate the economy and the image of the district if tomorrow it is realised that these murders don't have any connection . Who will bear the cost of the damage???

    Easy way of doing the things by just putting restrictions on people. Incapable department, where they make people suffer . Why don't you get extra forces and facilitate to run the business as usual.

    It is more of an inconvenience to the general public than a safety measure. Untoward incidents can happen anytime as long as the politicians keep stroking communal issues for electorate gain.

    This should remind of the lockdown during corona period.Here it is after 6 in the evening.Durinng corona liquor was open and now all closed.Anyway rules are rules.It has to be obeyed.
