Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 1: Dakshina Kannada on Monday August 1, reported 10 new coronavirus cases while 3 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,255 out of which 85 are currently active. As many as 22 patients were discharged on August 1.

No deaths were reported on August 1. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,854.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.49 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

3 coronavirus cases were reported on August 1. The total active Covid cases are 48.

A total of 10,89,929 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,82,397 have received both doses and 1,73,192 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported two cases while Karkala added one.
