Bengaluru, Aug 2: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai held a video conference with deputy commissioners of severely rain affected 11 districts in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
He directed the officials to ensure that suitable relief and rescue operations were conducted.
Chief Secretary Vanditha Sharma, Finance Department Additional Chief Secretary ISN Prasad, Public Works Department Secretary Krishna Reddy, Natural Disaster Management Cell Chief Manoj, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad and other senior officers were present at the video conference.
Bommai said the increasing heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Kodagu and other districts during the last few days has resulted in severe damages to roads and other public properties and assured that the government would take necessary steps to help the people in distress.
Speaking to media persons, Bommai said the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting the State to participate in the CIIA Cultural Wing meeting in Bengaluru on August 4.
The Chief Minister also held a review meeting with senior officials on the steps to be taken to contain the monkey fox problem.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr K Sudhakar, Chief Secretary Vanditha Sharma, Health Department Commissioner D Randeep, National Health Mission Director Dr Arundati, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad and Secretary Shrikar as well as State Health Task Force Chief Dr Sudarshan attended the meeting.
Later, the Chief Minister launched the digital marketing training programme for 10,000 women under the Digital Transformation scheme.
