Bengaluru, Aug 2: JD(S) leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy assailed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for visiting the State again on August 4 and wondered if his visit was to continue the Gujarat model of killings and pile up more dead bodies in Karnataka.
Speaking to media persons at his farmhouse in Bidadi on Tuesday, August 2, he alleged that the ruling BJP must be bringing the union home minister to further its political game by ensuing more deaths in the State as they are clever in grabbing votes by causing bloodshed.
“BJP brought the youth, who were happy in their homes, out into politics in the name of Hindutva and the ruling party has now become arrogant,” he claimed.
Kumaraswamy lashed out at Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan and said the Ramanagara district in-charge minister should remember that it was BJP government which played partisan politics when Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai visited the residence of Praveen Nettaru to console the family and presented a cheque of Rs 25 lakh from the government while failing to visit the residence of slain Masood in the same neighbourhood and Mohammed Fazil, who was killed in Mangalore on the night Bommai was present, besides not offering any monetary compensation.
The law and order situation in the State has completely collapsed and Home Minister Araga Jnanedara has become an utter failure in handling the Home Department. Murders are taking place in the coastal region and other parts and the government is unable to control the rise of anti-social elements, he said.
Kumaraswamy demanded that the State Legislature session must be convened immediately to discuss the failure of law and order situation and the culture of murders besides the devastation caused by heavy rains in the coastal regions and other districts, including Bengaluru.
