Janaspandana will reach out to entire Karnataka, says Bommai

Doddaballapur (Bengaluru Rural), Sep 10: The thrice postponed programme to mark the first year anniversary of the Basavaraj Bommai-led BJP government in the State, named Janaspandana from its previous Janothsava, was finally held at Doddaballapur in Brngaluru Rural district on Saturday.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai along with Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Prahlad Joshi, former Chief Minister and BJP’s Central Parliamentary Board member B S Yediyurappa, State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel and other State ministers participated in the programme, which according to the party was attended by 3 lakh people.

Addressing the massive crowd, Bommai said the Janaspandana programme to mark the three-year rule of BJP in the State, including the one and half years of Yediyurappa rule, would be held all over the State covering all villages, taluks and assembly constituencies to herald the message to the people that the ruling party’s electoral symbol of Lotus will bloom and the BJP will come back to power with a thumping majority in the 2023 assembly polls.

“The success of the Doddaballapura bash is a clear sign that BJP is all set to get resounding victory in next year’s assembly elections,’’ Bommai said.

Narrating the various programmes and initiatives taken by the BJP government during the last three years, the Chief Minister said the government has successfully and efficiently handled the Covid pandemic and has provided timely medical care as well as support to the people.

Karnataka has successfully administered 2 doses of Covid vaccines to the people, he said and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in vaccinating the 130 crore people during pandemic besides providing financial assistance to the people and industries.

Taking potshots at the opposition Congress, Bommai said the people would have suffered and been in hell if the Congress was in power. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership saved the country,’’ he said.

The double-engine rule of BJP at the Centre and in the State has taken care of all sections of the people, he said pointing out that the State has provided assistance of Rs 1,042 crore to 20 lakh students. Women, farmers, backward classes and Dalits have been cared for,’’ he said.

The Chief Minister lambasted the Congress party and said its leaders are unaware of the Ethinahole project. He said the government is committed to spend Rs 3,000 crore on the project this year and ensure that Kolar and Chikkaballapur feeder canal work will be taken up. “We are determined to ensure that water is provided from the project for the parched areas,’’ he declared.

Nelamangala, Doddaballapur and Devanahalli will be developed as satellite towns to ease the congestion in Bengaluru and eventually turned into corporations. The government has prepared a master plan for the development of the three satellite towns,’’ he said.

The Chief Minister said his government is working for the development and progress of the entire State and help in the country’s progress.
