Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 11: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, September 11, reported 18 new coronavirus cases while seven cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,875, out of which 87 are currently active. As many as 16 patients were discharged on September 11.

One death was reported on September 11. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.49 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Seven coronavirus cases were reported on September 11. The total active Covid cases are 48.

A total of 10,90,533 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,553 have received both doses and 2,60,072 people have received booster doses.
