Mangaluru, Nov 13: Circle Inspector of Kadri police station, Maruti Nayak inaugurated the district-level women badminton tournament at Eden Sports and Aquatic Foundation, Padua in city on Sunday November 13.

Speaking on the occasion Nayak said, “Eden Club has provided a platform for the budding talents in the locality. Hope this may be a platform for the talents to reach state, national and higher levels. I congratulate Eden club for this."

Speaking on the occasion eminent Gynaecologist Dr Deepak Shedde said "It is nice to see that the women have come forward in such a large number to participate in the event. Since women manage their families, they must be healthy and fit. This tournament is a good initiative."

The sports co-ordinator Ivan Pinto while explaining about the events said "For the first time in the mixed doubles category, mother and son are playing as a pair today. Along with this there is doubles"

Manager of the club G P Mascarenhas, senior life member Vincent Sequeira, event co-ordinator Mahesh Kamath and others were present at the occasion.
